Obama’s NLRB Gets Smacked Down: District Court Rules Arizona’s Secret-Ballot Amendment Is Constitutional

You may recall back in 2010, when Barack Obama’s union-appointees at the National Labor Relations Board began showing their true union colors, voters in Arizona, South Carolina, South Dakota and Utah passed secret-ballot amendments to their state constitutions as a preemptive measure to thwart the Obama Administration’s (and unions’) efforts to pass legislation calling for unionization without elections. Small business endorses Robert Duvall in House District 59.

The National Federation of Independent Business, Tennessee’s leading small business association, has endorsed Robert Duvall in the race for the 59th House District. The endorsement was made by NFIB/Tennessee SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members. The general election will be held Tuesday, November 6th.

Robert Duvall is in his second term in the Metro Council where he has distinguished himself for service to his district, advocacy of government efficiency, and opposition to tax increases. In the most recent property tax battle, Robert Duvall was the only Council member to introduce an alternative to the Mayor budget that did not include a tax increase.

Duvall is challenging Democratic incumbent Sherry Jones.  Ms Jones is one of the most liberal members of the State legislature and has gained notoriety for being the member of the state legislator who most often abuses the legislatures per diem system. While she  is not the member who has taken the most in per diem expenses, she lives within ten miles of the capitol building and her attendance at legislative functions or study sessions does not require overnight logging or extra purchase of meals.

In August, Representative Jones created a controversy when at a Democratic unity breakfast she said of her opponent Robert Duvall, "He hates everybody, where I, on the other hand, love everybody." (link)

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 6, 2012 – The National Federation of Independent Business, Tennessee’s leading small business association, has endorsed Steve Dickerson in the race for the 20th Senate District. Dickerson said, “I greatly appreciate NFIB’s support for my campaign. Small business owners continue to tell me it is vitally important to keep government out of their way so they grow their businesses, their payroll and Tennessee’s economy. Tennessee is a great place to do business, but we have much more to do to make it a better place for our state’s struggling entrepreneurs.”

NFIB’s endorsement is critical to the Dickerson campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged it will activate its grassroots network on behalf of the Dickerson campaign. NFIB’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small business issues.

Democrats Boo Inclusion of God, Jerusalem

In a stunning reversal Wednesday, the Democratic Party reinserted the words God and Jerusalem into their 2012 platform over the audible objections of at least half the crowd. After calling for the vote three time the chairman determined that 2/3rds voted in favor of the platform revision. It sounded pretty close to me. Actually, it sounded like the "nos" were in the majority. Apparently seeing the damage the exclusion of God and Jerusalem was doing to the Party, President Obama insisted the offensive words be put back in the platform.

Watching the Democratic Convention, one can learn a lot about the differences between Republicans and Democrats.  Democrats do not know that there is  a difference between society and state. 

I am glad others thought this video was revealing. Here is commentary from RedState:

This is unreal. The founders must be rolling over in their grave. The constitution starts with “We the People,” not we the government. The government belongs to us, we do not belong to the government. The government is our servant. We do not serve government. We are Americans. We are not all wards or property of the state, despite Barack Obama’s best efforts.

I think we can say the Democrats are fulling embracing Barack Obama’s claim that “you didn’t build that.” It’s clear from this we did not take Barack Obama out of context. The Democrats really do believe government built it all.

First Lady Michelle Obama’s pitch to voters last night relied on the premise that she and her husband understand what it is to struggle to make ends meet. She spoke movingly about their early years--about how a young Barack Obama drove a car that was “rusted out" and found his furniture “in a dumpster,” how they both came from families that had to “scrape by.” Her fairy tale--however well-delivered--was one great, big, colorful lie. My Comment: Please read the above. The Obamas went to elite schools. Their first home was a $277K, two-bedroom condo purchased in 1993. With cushy law school jobs they could well afford their student loans.  I am not buying the rusted out car and furniture from a dumpster story. Quit frankly, I was skeptical when Ann Romney said she and Mitt lived in a basement and their desk was a door on saw horses and their dining room table was an ironing board. I accept that the Romneys were probably more privileged than the Obamas but I don't think the Obamas nor the Romneys have ever experienced poverty. Neither of them have had to decide which bill to pay and which to not pay or worried about having their utilities disconnected.  I hate it when rich privileged people play the "I-was-poor" card.
