Democrats Boo Inclusion of God, Jerusalem

In a stunning reversal Wednesday, the Democratic Party reinserted the words God and Jerusalem into their 2012 platform over the audible objections of at least half the crowd. After calling for the vote three time the chairman determined that 2/3rds voted in favor of the platform revision. It sounded pretty close to me. Actually, it sounded like the "nos" were in the majority. Apparently seeing the damage the exclusion of God and Jerusalem was doing to the Party, President Obama insisted the offensive words be put back in the platform.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ashley Judd came to politics naturally, and there’s never any question about which side of the aisle she stands on.

“I’ve been a Democrat for a very long time,” Judd said. “Family lore says that my beloved great-aunt, Pauline, who lived on a farm in Lawrence County in Eastern Kentucky, named all her dogs after Democrats.”

This week Judd, a famous actress, activist and Williamson County resident, is taking her partisanship to a new level as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. (link)
