Andy Ogles is a despicable person and is an example of the worst kind of Trump loyalist. I am disappointed in almost all Republicans holding public office because they will not stand up to Trump, oppose his bad policies, his unconstitutional actions, mismanagement, cruelty, unqualified and nut-job cabinet nominees, and his corruption. I know they lack backbone, but most, I suspect, are not true believers. They kowtow to Trump out of fear of retribution from their voters. Andy Ogles is a true believer.
Andy Ogles has been like a puppy dog, yearning to please his master. He will do anything for that pat on the head and a "good boy." Trump loves loyalty and flattery. The only thing he appears to love more is a winner. Trump issued strong endorsements of Ogles before the election and then after the election said Ogles had almost no chance of winning.
and resume. That did not keep Trump from offering an early endorsement last fall. Among Ogles' past controversies was the FBI's seizure of his cellphone in 2024 as part of a campaign finance investigation. In 2023, he also acknowledged misrepresenting his college degree. He also inflated his resume considerably. One issue that was never resolved was Congressman Andy Ogles ' misuse of money raised as a memorial for stillborn babies.
Charlie Hatcher defeated incumbent U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles with 53.2% of the vote to Ogles’ 46.8%. That is pretty remarkable. An incumbent seldom loses renomination. Also, Hatcher is not a household name. To vote against Ogles, voters had to disregard Trump's strong endorsement of him. That Ogles lost restores my hope that maybe, just maybe, there is a shred of decency left among Republicans.
