Treasurer David Lillard says current economic upturn benefits the state

From Dru's Vues,too, Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011

House Speaker Beth Harwell and State Treasurer David Lillard
visited with Green Hills Republicans Sat. morning at Swett's Cafeteria.
Lillard called Speaker Harwell, "an experienced leader whose time has come."
"Tennessee is much better off than most other states," State Treasurer David Lillard told Green Hills Republicans.  He noted the current economic "upturn is working for us" bringing in about $300 million in new revenue. The new money does not, however, close the $900 million budget gap the state faces. (link)
